Where it all began….

Reflecting back to early childhood, in my elementary school era. Trading Baseball and Magic: The Gathering cards for a lunch ticket, I believe is where it all started. I know you’re probably thinking, a single Magic or Baseball card is worth thousands of lunch tickets these days! This is how it all went down, I would take an old action figurine that I had sitting in the closet and trade up for a few packs of unopened cards. Specifically, I would target peers with the magic cards. I never knew how the card game worked and to be honest I had to look it up just now lol… But, what I do recall is most kids where chasing certain cards with higher energy scores that was my niche. The idea was to be the kid with the highest energy collection of cards basically, “the card dealer” or as I was called the “Master Wizard”. Yeah, never did like the second nickname! Soon enough, I had a crowd of kids waiting for me every morning at school willing to trade their weekly lunch card for a single magic card. Oh, I now had an issue. The same kids that were trading with me was my only sourcing pool. I had to find a new source for these cards and not to mention, I was running out of action figures to trade for.
